The Travels of Johnny Thunder

Hello, Johnny Thunder here. Welcome to my travel journal. You may have seen me and my friends in some of our other adventures. From Egypt to Asia; from the Lost World to the Amazon; we've been everywhere. Now, however, I would like to extend an invitation to join me on a tour through the real world. Check back here for pictures from my latest travels... -JT

Over the past year or so, the family and I have not stopped taking trips. I have just been neglectful with the postings. In order to remedy this, over the next few weeks, I plan to post one of what I am calling "lost adventurers" each week. So be sure to check back over the next several weeks.

Death Valley

Springtime took us to the lowest and hottest spot in the Western Hemisphere: Death Valley. At 282 feet below sea level, Badwater Basin is the 2nd lowest spot in the world. A small saltwater pool sits surrounded by the salt flats left over from the evaporated lake. Elsewhere in the park are vast sand dunes and colorful badlands. After leaving the national park, we made a quick stop, a short distance outside the valley, at the ghost town of Rhyolite.
