Sutter's Fort
G'day from the Golden State!
Pippin and I spent the day in Sacramento California, touring the end point of the westward wagon trail, Sutter's Fort. Built prior to the American Civil War, in the 1830s and 40s, but now located in the modern urban downtown neighborhoods of Sacramento, the white walls and gun towers of the fort, spelled safety for the pioneers and gold seekers, who travelled across the continent and made it through the wooden gates to the well-stocked and industrial interior of the fort.
Until next time, happy travels!
