The Travels of Johnny Thunder

Hello, Johnny Thunder here. Welcome to my travel journal. You may have seen me and my friends in some of our other adventures. From Egypt to Asia; from the Lost World to the Amazon; we've been everywhere. Now, however, I would like to extend an invitation to join me on a tour through the real world. Check back here for pictures from my latest travels... -JT

Bricks by the Bay (A lost adventure)

In August 2013, I attended my first Lego fan convention: Bricks by the Bay, in Santa Clara, California. Wandering amidst the hundreds of Lego creations, I stumbled upon some ancient buildings, including the Colosseum of Rome (pictured above); the Parthenon; the Great Pyramid of Giza, with the Lighthouse of Alexandria and the Colossus of Rhodes in the background; and the whole of Egypt. There were also some less ancient sights to behold.

The Lost Adventures

While the blog may have been inactive for nearly two years, the travels have continued. In the next few weeks, I'll be sharing some of the lost travels, which did not make it to post over the past months.

The Zion in Winter

After leaving Las Vegas, we headed north-east for a bit before arriving at Zion National Park. What was expected to be a relatively warm weekend, turned out to be a winter wonderland. The snow from the eastern high country also fell on the valley floor.

The afternoon of the second day, however, found most of the snow had melted. The sun helped to warm the valley and allowed us to do a little exploration of the red rock country.

Viva Las Vegas

The family and I visited Las Vegas again. Being too small to operate the slot machines, we decided to experience some of the other attractions Sin City had to offer. We first visited the cactus gardens, pictured above, at the Ethel M Chocolate factory.

After leaving the chocolate factory, we spent some time and some quarters in the Pinball Hall of Fame. Later the next evening, we took in the gardens at the Bellagio conservatory and watched the fountain show outside. Finally, we capped off the Vegas visit with a tour of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
